This notice is to provide you with relevant information about the establishment of a permanent executive BID board. Once established, the intention is to have a selection of BID Levy payers and key Town Centre partners to represent the Business Community within the Warrington BID geographical area.

The board will be made up of 11 members from the Business Community in Warrington and representatives from Warrington Borough Council and Cheshire Police. Also including representation from the key sectors including retail, night time economy, professional, leisure & culture, 3rd sector and other business services.

The purpose of the board will be to take responsibility for guiding and directing the accountable body in the delivery of the BID 5-year business plan. If selected, the membership will require your presence at monthly meetings. There is a potential that the board may invite representatives from other public or private sector organisations to support them in their aims and objectives in delivering the plan.

Accountability:

  • Ensuring that the accountable body is held accountable for expenditure of BID monies
  • Approving eligible expenditure in line with the delegated powers detailed within the financial regulations that have been approved by members of the business group
  • Monitoring and reporting to members of the Group on the achievements of the Business Improvement District and its overall performance

Meetings:

  • The BID Board will meet each month at a venue based in Warrington
  • Meetings will be organised by the accountable body
  • The accountable body will provide secretariat support at all meetings

Next Steps:

Each application needs to consist of no more than 250 words detailing why a member would be best suited for a position on the Executive Board, the skills they could bring to the board and what they have to offer as a board member.

The Warrington BID Team are focusing their work on geographical areas (Palmyra Square & Cultural Quarter; Time Square & Town Centre; Golden Square; Stadium Quarter) and specific sectors (Night Time Economy; Retail; Leisure and Professional Services).
